Curatorial text
In skateboarding, the body never works one part at a time. The head stays alert, reading what comes next. The arms help keep balance, countering shifts in weight and following every change of direction. The feet control how the board responds beneath them, adjusting pressure and weight with each movement. Every part has a role, but none can do the job alone. Skateboarding takes a finely tuned coordination of the entire body, with each movement depending on the others.
The photograph draws attention to this physical interdependence. Skateboarding calls for strength, focus, balance, and awareness, but these qualities only come into their own when they work together. The head, arms, and feet are not separate tools for executing a trick. They are part of the same physical intelligence, each shaping and responding to the others. Individual ability matters, but it is never the whole story. What makes the movement possible is the way everything comes together.
