Curatorial text
If physical activity could step out of the realm of concepts and sit down at the table with us, perhaps we would discover that it spends its life collecting. Not medals or photographs of perfect bodies, but transformations. Its collection would include resilience, well-being, persistence, patience, health, confidence, autonomy, and a sense of belonging.
The collection would be alive, open, growing with every encounter. Each repetition would add a piece; each difficulty, a story; each return, a rarity. Some works exist only when someone takes part in them.
Its collection does not ask who you were before you arrived. It receives the body you have that day and works with it. It teaches discipline, turns persistence into habit, effort into ability, and ability into freedom.
What changes is our relationship with our own existence. Taking care of the home we carry with us changes the way we inhabit the world, recognize ourselves, and find a sense of belonging.
Aesthetics may emerge as a consequence, but they remain secondary. The true collection lies in the dignity of doing, the courage to continue, and the daily discovery that there is still something to learn.
Physical activity is this collector: patient, tireless. The more it receives, the more it gives back. The more people enter its collection, the larger it becomes. Its most precious work is this: transforming lives without possessing them.
