IRREVOCABLE

Some departures change the shape of a life. Once a certain point has been reached, going back no longer makes sense. What came before remains part of us, but it no longer has the power to decide where we go next.

There is a particular freedom in accepting that. We do not have to recover what has ended or return to a version of ourselves that no longer exists. We can let a chapter close and make room for whatever comes after it.

Flight carries something of this experience. Once a bird leaves the ground, its relationship with the place below changes. It can gain distance, alter its course, disappear beyond our sight. Nothing in the sky requires it to retrace the path it took to get there.

Some choices work the same way. They do not erase the past. They simply make it impossible to live from the same point again.

Irrevocable is the moment when a departure becomes part of who we are, and the road ahead becomes the only place left to look.
